Our museum comes in two convenient parts - the main building, which used to be the home of the Canadian National Superintendent, and a large, full scale railway exhibit on the grounds. In the building we have rooms devoted to railways, mining, forestry and heritage of the region, as well as a tea room and gift shop. Included in the exhibit is a 4-8 2 steam locomotive built in 1944, a passenger car built as a sleeping car in 1912, now fitted out as a northern Ontario school car; two locomotives; a slag pot car; two cabooses; a baggage car; a snowplow and even a 'boxcar home' showing how people once lived. Meanwhile, huge modern freight trains and a transcontinental passenger train roll by our back door. Visit, enjoy our hospitality and discover what real railroading is all about.
