The myCommunity section of the mySudbury.ca community portal has been designed to help local agencies collaborate and interact more effectively with other agencies, their clients and the citizens of Greater Sudbury.
A key component of the myCommunity section is the online “Community Workspaces” for human service agencies. A “Community” is an online workspace which contains a wealth of “do-it-yourself” web marketing and fundraising tools available to organizations. Your “Community” will enable your organization to:

Collaborate with other community agencies and services

Create and manage volunteer opportunities

Design your own surveys to gain feedback

Launch discussion forums for topics of interest

Offer online registration for your programs and services

Announce your upcoming events in your community, myCommunity homepage, Portal homepage as well as other sections

Accept donations online

Advertise products and services

Share your senior, youth and children-specific information directly with these sections

How can your organization access these valuable and easy to use tools?
Many services are already listed in the myCommunity resource database. If your agency is not listed, the first step is to sign up as a member of the mySudbury.ca portal, and create a portal profile.
Once you are a member, you can click the “Request Community Workspace” menu from the myCommunity homepage.
You will need to fill out the request form, and provide detailed information about your agency. This information will help the myCommunity team properly index and classify your agency for search purposes – helping people find your information quickly and easily.
Is your agency already listed on mysudbury.ca and you would like to arrange for training?
Through the joint efforts of mysudbury.ca and the Social Planning Council’s myCommunity training team, many local organizations have received training and are effectively using their community workspaces in the myCommunity section of the portal.
